Monte Pisano Oil Mill – the Inauguration Video
09/09/2024

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, the new Monte Pisano Oil Mill was officially inaugurated with an event open to everyone: institutions, entrepreneurs, and private citizens.
The day began in the morning with the workshop “Quality and Value of Olive Oil” featuring Professor Andrea Bellincontro from the “University of Tuscia, and Professor Maurizio Servili, Professor of Food Science and Technology at the” University of Perugia, who emphasized “cutting-edge technologies and non-destructive predictive techniques for advanced processing”, as well as strategic topics related to production and the ability to maximize product value.

The afternoon was dedicated to a series of guided tours of the facility and production line, before the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The day concluded with an aperitif dinner offered by the Oil Mill: a gastronomic event highlighting the strong synergy between the mill and local businesses.
The event closed with a concert by the “Alter Echo String Quartet”.

Monte Pisano Oil Mill: the New Chapter

Already begun with the reclamation of the “surrounding area, this project marks a new chapter for the territory. The renovation of the new facility is part of a program for recovering abandoned olive groves on Monte Pisano, aimed at revitalizing the local economy and enhancing olive oil production, creating new opportunities for olive tourism.”

The Monte Pisano Oil Mill approaches the new olive oil season with a 1.3 million euro investment, which has already enabled the optimization of machinery to offer the best possible service to olive growers and ensure the highest quality of the final product. The Monte Pisano Oil Mill will support small producers in managing olive groves through the development of a service center for olive growers, training and updating courses, sales points for olive growing products, and guided tours with olive oil tastings.

The Ribbon Cutting

The new olive oil season begins with the ribbon cutting ceremony in the presence of Matteo Ferrucci – Mayor of Vicopisano, Massimiliano Ghimenti – Mayor of Calci, Federico Picardi – Agriculture Councilor of Buti, and with the participation of Senator Ylenia Zambito.

We also thank the President of the Tuscany Region, Eugenio Giani, who visited us in the morning to experience firsthand the beginning of this new chapter and emphasize how such an initiative can add value to the territory

“I am pleased to be here today to welcome the birth of a project with a broad vision that aims to give proper recognition to the Monte Pisano area, through an initiative that will incentivize not only producers and entrepreneurs in the olive oil sector but also bring added value to the community”

Eugenio Giani – President of Tuscany Region

The Objective

The objective is to create an environmentally friendly process, ensuring the best processing conditions to boost the local economy.

“This day summarizes a journey that began 12 months ago, with effort invested by the entire work group in achieving an offering of products and services fully available to the territory. Our long-term vision is focused on creating a network of professionals with cutting-edge expertise and machinery for olive oil production, which can bring new added value to hobby olive growers, local entrepreneurs, and the entire community.
Today we are here to share awareness and offer the best possible conditions for a quality product that will be recognized in the market and that identifies with the area where it is produced.
We are ready for the upcoming olive oil season, and our primary intent remains guaranteeing the high quality standards we have set for ourselves.”
